Title: Corrosion due to onions

We have obtained fin samples from coolers in onion preparation rooms. There seems te be a lot of corrosion. What is causing this corrosion and what can Blygold do about is? (the fins are made of copper)

The corrosion in this situation can easily be explainhed. Onions are loaded with sulphur that will easily create sulphuric acid. This is also the reason for eye irritation when cutting onions! Sulphur affects copper and zinc rapidly, sulhuric acid will affect any metal. The copper fins will be completely black due to the reaction with sulphur. A treatment with PoluAl XT will solve the problem. Aluminium fins with PoluAl XT would even be a better solution.
